Adios Apartment Living

I would like to formally bid adieu to apartment living. Adios. Arrivederci. Pase buen dia. Sorry for the lack of heads up, but I figured the whole world shouldn't know that my belongings had been boxed up and ready for easy black market fencing. It's a relief to be unpacked and settled. I hate moving. Correction: I hate the packing part of moving. I don't mind the unpacking so much.

I would not like to so cheerfully say goodbye to PT Girl. She was a great roommate and I can't wait to see where she goes. My new Roomie is pretty cool and has a house...and her Pups is cute as can be. This is coming from a cat person. I'm definitely not opposed to dogs at all. But we grew up with whiskery soft pawed head butting felines in our house in Yankeeland.

This is the first move here that I rented a UHaul and it was amazing thanks to DH and our friends! We also got lucky and had fairly good weather here so while it was hot, it wasn't ridiculous hair dryer blowing on high in our faces hot. I think it helped that I moved a bunch of stuff on Saturday in my car. On the day that there was a massive hair dryer blowing hot air around, when the air moved at all that is.

Some power yoga finished off the moving weekend. I think my poor Roomie must believe I constantly am disheveled with a fine layer of dried sweat covering me. In my defense, when a yoga-loving coworker asked me if I wanted to go to yoga, I wasn't smart enough to ask what type of class it was. Um...is that actually in my defense or is that more of a lack of common sense? Now I don't know what kind of yoga this was exactly. Every time I think I've got it figured out someone tells me I misunderstood. So whether it was Bikram, Ashtanga, Power, Meditative, Cirque du Soleil or affiliated with a traveling roller skate show I don't have a clue. All I know is it was hot, packed with people, I almost kicked the girl behind me in the head and I can't walk down stairs very well today.

Adios apartment living, hello potential yoga related lawsuit. How was your weekend?

  1. Andrea,
Congrats on the move to a house. It is sooo much nicer in a house. Hope the new roommate and the doggies works out well for you. My son just made a similar move and everything's working out great for him. Not a big fan of moving, I don't even want to tell you how many times I've helped the loved one's move! Not to mention how the kids cleared us out when they did!
Nothing going on here this weekend, just rained all day every day :(
Be well and be in touch with you soon...
