Sunday Social: Music

Sunday Social is the thing that gets me blogging today. I'm really loving this Linky! There aren't so many questions that it's overwhelming but they're also crafted to give you direction. My way of saying, "Join up already!"

This week's theme is music. So here's the thing with me and music. I sing along, I make up new words. But when it comes to knowing who sings what and the names of songs I'm hopeless. I'm brilliant with actors/actresses/movies/TV shows. I guess it takes up all the available extra space in my brain. So music gets the shaft.

I'll do my best with the questions below. Feel free to snigger and correct my answers that may be wrong.

What is your all-time favorite song?
This is so cheesy, but it's the first one that I thought of....You Are My Sunshine. My mom would sing it to me every night when she tucked me in. Anytime I hear it I think of my momma.

What is your favorite singer/band?
Cross Canadian Ragweed, who disbanded for a great reason but broke my heart nonetheless.

Brandi Carlile, this girl gets it!

Nancy Micciulla...listen to her right this freaking second. Nancy and I have been friends since the first week of undergrad and you have no idea how proud and excited I am to see her, via YouTube, performing. Tears in my eyes excited!

Five for Fighting

What is your theme song/song that best describes your life?
Keep Breathing by Ingrid Michaelson. This is the song I listened to over and over along with Defy Gravity from Wicked when I was getting ready to do my 4th year defense. It's been the theme song of these past few weeks as well.

What songs put you in a good mood?
Anything by Cross Canadian Ragweed or from Glee. Also, Running on Sunshine by Jesus Jackson always makes me want to dance.

What is your favorite road-trip music?
Anything with a story so musicals are perfect. Grey's Anatomy soundtrack. Glee. Sing along type of music.

What song are you embarrassed to admit you love?
Circus by Britney Spears. Yep, I said it.

    1. Teach them this immediately. The end result? Every time they hear it after they have gone to college/grown up/moved away they will get teary eyed and feel the need to call you to say they love you. Unless that's just me.
